SHREVEPORT, La. — LSU Health Shreveport has appointed Dr. Jared Lundy Moss as chair of its Department of Urology, effective July 1.
Moss, a Shreveport native, previously served as a clinical assistant professor of urology at the institution. His appointment adds leadership continuity within the academic medical center while expanding its specialty care capacity in the Ark-La-Tex region.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in animal biology from Louisiana Tech University and a medical degree from LSU Health Shreveport, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed a general surgery internship and urology residency at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine in Knoxville, followed by a fellowship in male reproductive medicine and surgery at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
Moss specializes in men’s health, with a clinical focus on male fertility, erectile dysfunction, hypogonadism and microsurgical procedures, including vasectomy reversals and sperm retrieval. LSU Health Shreveport said he is the first male reproductive specialist serving the Ark-La-Tex region, expanding access to subspecialty care locally.
His academic and clinical work includes fertility preservation, particularly for cancer patients, as well as emerging therapies in reproductive and sexual health. Moss has contributed to peer-reviewed research, national presentations and clinical trials.
He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Urological Association, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the Sexual Medicine Society of North America. His honors include the Ochsner LSU Health Patient Experience Award and the Guardian Angel Award for Excellence in Patient Care.
LSU Health Shreveport is one of two health sciences centers in the LSU System and serves as the only academic medical center within a 150-mile radius, supporting medical education, research and regional healthcare delivery.
