MANSFIELD, La. Community Bank of Louisiana is marking its 125th anniversary, celebrating more than a century of growth from a single branch in Logansport to a regional community bank with 12 locations and more than $850 million in assets.
Founded in 1901 as the Bank of Logansport, the institution expanded over the following decades through acquisitions and new branch openings before adopting the Community Bank of Louisiana name in 1997. Today, the bank operates branches throughout northwest Louisiana, offering personal and business banking, mortgage lending, digital banking and investment services.
The bank’s expansion has included locations in Shreveport, Bossier City, Stonewall and Many, with additional growth planned beginning in 2027. In 2024, Community Bank of Louisiana also launched Community Wealth Services in partnership with Ameriprise Financial Services to provide investment and financial planning services.
“One hundred and twenty-five years is a testament to the trust this community has placed in us and to the people inside this bank who have honored that trust every single day. We don’t take either one for granted. This anniversary belongs to our customers, staff, and friends as much as it belongs to us as a bank,” President and CEO Jayce Simpson said.
Simpson, who became president and CEO in 2021, oversees a locally owned institution with more than 117 employees. The bank said its lending remains focused primarily on local customers, businesses and community development projects across northwest Louisiana.
As part of the anniversary celebration, Community Bank of Louisiana will host a free community event Oct. 10 at its headquarters in Mansfield. The event will feature live music, local vendors, food trucks and family activities.
The bank said it plans to continue expanding financial services while maintaining its focus on relationship-based community banking.
