BOSSIER CITY, La. Bossier Parish Community College student Jailyn Guillory has been selected to serve as the 2026-2027 SkillsUSA Louisiana Postsecondary State President, a leadership position representing the organization’s postsecondary members across the state.
In the role, Guillory will represent Louisiana at state and national SkillsUSA events, serve as an ambassador for career and technical education and work with fellow state officers to support student leadership, professional development and workforce readiness initiatives.
“Being selected to represent Louisiana is such an incredible privilege, and I am so grateful to our Executive Director, Quentin Kelly, and the staff at LCTC for choosing me for this opportunity,” Guillory said. “SkillsUSA has done so much to prepare and support me for the workforce, and I want every student involved to have that same experience. Our leadership team and I have so many ideas to share and develop throughout the coming year as we work to serve and strengthen the communities around us. The SkillsUSA community is looking forward to a proactive, impactful, and exciting year!”
BPCC Chancellor Dr. Rick Bateman Jr. said Guillory’s appointment reflects her leadership and professionalism.
“Jailyn’s selection as SkillsUSA Louisiana Postsecondary State President is an exceptional achievement and a testament to the leadership, professionalism and dedication she has demonstrated,” Bateman said. “This role provides her with an opportunity to represent not only BPCC, but postsecondary career and technical education students throughout Louisiana. We are extremely proud of Jailyn and confident she will represent our College and our state with distinction.”
BPCC SkillsUSA advisor Jim Boyter said Guillory has demonstrated the qualities expected of student leaders and will have an opportunity to make a meaningful impact during her term.

SkillsUSA is a national career and technical student organization that partners with students, educators and industry to promote workforce development through leadership training, technical skills competitions and career-focused programs.
BPCC said Guillory’s appointment also reflects the college’s continued emphasis on career and technical education and leadership development opportunities for students.
