BATON ROUGE, La. — AT&T has contributed $25,000 to the Foundation for Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges to support scholarships for low-income students attending institutions within the Louisiana Community and Technical College System.
The funding is intended to help offset educational expenses for eligible students and expand access to career-focused training programs across Louisiana. The contribution also supports workforce development efforts by helping students complete education and technical training programs that can lead to employment opportunities.
State Sen. Adam Bass said investments in education and technical training help prepare workers for the needs of a growing economy while creating pathways to higher-paying jobs.
Richard Nelson, president of Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges, said the scholarship support will help students overcome financial barriers and remain focused on completing programs that can improve their career prospects and economic mobility.
David Aubrey, president of AT&T Louisiana, said access to education and workforce training can create opportunities for students and strengthen the state’s workforce. He said the company is supporting efforts to help students gain skills and credentials needed for rewarding careers.
AT&T said the contribution is part of its broader efforts to expand access to education and technology while supporting community development initiatives across Louisiana and the surrounding region.
