SWEPCO, Lagniappe Prime win state PR awards

SWEPCO’s Michelle Marcotte and Lagniappe P.R.I.M.E.’s Emerie Holtzclaw won big at this year’s Torché Awards hosted by the Public Relations Association of Louisiana (PRAL).

The PRAL State Conference recognizes the work of public relations and communications professionals across Louisiana for outstanding public relations campaigns performed in 2022. The awards were held Thursday, June 22nd, 2023 in Alexandria.

The Torché Awards are held annually in June by the Louisiana Chapter of the National Public Relations Association. Submissions for the Awards were judged by esteemed public relations professionals across Alabama, North Florida and Mississippi who critiqued the public relations and communication campaign entries based on the following: Research / Situation Analysis, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation.

The Torché Award is the highest recognition awarded at the conference followed by the Award of Excellence, then the Award of Merit. The Torché Award Winners will have the opportunity to submit their work to compete in the PRAL regional awards hosted by Southern Public Relations Federation’s awards in September.

Marcotte and Holtzclaw were recognized for the following awards:
Michelle Marcotte, Corporate Communications, Southwestern Electric Power Company – Torché Award Winner Tier 2: Short Term/Community Relations and Public Service
Campaign: Shining a Light on Residential Solar Misconceptions

Emerie Eck Holtzclaw, Lagniappe P.R.I.M.E. – Award of Excellence Tier 2: Short Term/Special Events
Campaign: CORK XVI: A Red River Revel Wine Event
