Shreveport software company awarded contract to support Air Force’s nuclear mission

by BIZ Magazine

Praeses, a software development company known for the data fusion and data visualization capabilities of its Rook PlatformTM, announced today that it was awarded a Direct to Phase II contract through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program by the United States Air Force.

This award reinforces the immense value Praeses’ technology brings to the country’s national security and its warfighters in monitoring the status of nuclear assets.

Through this award, Praeses will install and tailor a Rook application known as Watchtower for Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) at the Joint Nuclear Operations Center (JNOC) at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. Watchtower, a data visualization tool, aggregates classified and unclassified data into one comprehensive, secure Common Operating Picture (COP), empowering those in command to make informed decisions based on real-time information. Praeses will roll out a secure, cloud-based version of Watchtower that will add bomber information and work in concert with the Watchtower implementations at the Minuteman III Missile Wings.

Praeses has a long track record of delivering high value programs to the U.S. Government at a fraction of the cost of its competitors. With its commitment to open architectures, Praeses provides assurance to its customers that it does not create vendor lock-in, thereby proving its value every day to our country’s warfighters.

“Since 2016, the U.S. Air Force has counted on Praeses to improve situational awareness across the ICBM missile fields,” says J.D. Hunsicker, Vice President of Government Programs at Praeses. “Praeses continues to play a critical role in enhancing the nation’s nuclear ballistic missile system. We’re especially excited to add Northwest Louisiana jobs and expand our longstanding relationship with our neighbor just across the river, Air Force Global Strike Command.”
