SHREVEPORT, La. — Employers located at the Port of Caddo-Bossier are expected to fill more than 160 positions during a regional job fair scheduled for June 25.
The Caddo-Bossier Parishes Port Commission will host the event from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Port of Caddo-Bossier Regional Commerce Center, located at 6000 Doug Attaway Boulevard in Shreveport.
Job seekers are encouraged to bring updated resumes and meet directly with hiring representatives from companies operating within the port.
Participating employers include steel manufacturer Benteler Steel/Tube Manufacturing Corp., packaging companies Calumet Packaging and OMNI Specialty Packaging, pharmaceutical distributor Morris & Dickson, logistics provider Odyssey Logistics, paper and packaging producer Pratt Industries, packaging manufacturer Ronpak, distributor Sports South, lumber producer Sumitomo Forestry and steel manufacturer Ternium USA.
Benteler Steel/Tube Manufacturing Corp. reported the largest hiring need, with approximately 60 openings for engineers, operators, technicians and supervisors. Sumitomo Forestry is seeking to fill 42 positions, including electricians, machine operators and millwrights.
Morris & Dickson has 20 to 25 openings for warehouse distribution associates and an automation technician. Ronpak plans to hire between 10 and 15 employees for positions including maintenance technicians, forklift drivers, machine operators and warehouse supervisors.
Additional opportunities include production, maintenance, inventory, logistics and warehouse roles across participating companies.
Based on employer estimates, the job fair will feature approximately 168 to 181 available positions.
The event is part of ongoing workforce development efforts at the Port of Caddo-Bossier, one of Northwest Louisiana’s largest industrial and logistics hubs.
The Regional Commerce Center is accessible through Gate C off Highway 1. Event organizers said attendees should bring updated resumes and be prepared to discuss employment opportunities with participating companies.
