NATCHITOCHES, LA — Ken Hale, President and CEO of BOM Bank, has been appointed Chairman of the Safety and Soundness Committee for the Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA), the national trade association that exclusively represents the interests of community banks across the United States.

Hale’s appointment places him in a pivotal role as a national advocate for community banking institutions, which are often considered the backbone of local economies. In this position, he will work directly with ICBA leadership in Washington, D.C., to help shape policy positions, develop programming, and lead grassroots advocacy efforts throughout Louisiana and Texas.
“Community banks are the heartbeat of Main Street, driving local economies and forging lasting relationships with consumers and small businesses,” Hale said. “I’m honored to contribute to ICBA’s mission, ensuring that community banks have a strong voice in policy discussions and access to education and innovative solutions that strengthen their ability to serve local communities.”
As Chairman of the ICBA’s Safety and Soundness Committee, Hale will help guide the organization on regulatory matters affecting the security, risk management, and overall resilience of community banks. These efforts are increasingly important as community banks navigate a complex financial landscape while continuing to meet the needs of customers and small businesses in rural and urban areas alike.
“Ken brings invaluable insight and dedication to the table, reinforcing the importance of community banks in fostering economic stability and opportunity,” said ICBA Chairman Jack Hopkins, president and CEO of CorTrust Bank in Sioux Falls, S.D. “We appreciate Ken’s leadership and commitment to advancing ICBA’s mission and look forward to working together to champion policies that empower community banks and the communities they serve.”
BOM Bank, founded in 1903 and headquartered in Natchitoches, has grown to become a trusted financial institution throughout Louisiana and parts of Texas. Under Hale’s leadership, the bank has expanded its services and community impact while staying true to its community-focused roots.
