BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. — Explosive Ordnance Disposal Airmen with the 2nd Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base are scheduled to conduct controlled detonations Thursday as part of planned demolition operations.
The activities will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to a media advisory released by the base. Officials said residents in the surrounding community may hear loud noises during that timeframe.
The detonations are preplanned and will be carried out by trained personnel. Base officials said the operations pose no threat to public safety.
The demolition work is part of routine operations conducted by the installation. Officials asked for the public’s understanding during the scheduled activity window.
