NORTHWEST LOUISIANA — LWCC said it is distributing $7.76 million in dividend payments to 2,118 businesses across northwest Louisiana as part of its 2025 dividend program.
The regional payments are part of a $90 million statewide dividend being distributed to about 18,500 LWCC policyholder businesses.
LWCC is a private mutual workers’ compensation company, meaning policyholders are members and may share in the company’s financial results through dividends. The company said 95% of its policyholders are small businesses.
Robert May, owner of Shreveport-based A Watertight Roofing, said the dividend helps the company offset operational expenses.
“Our purpose is to help Louisiana thrive. Distributing these funds to our policyholder members is one of the most meaningful ways LWCC brings that purpose to life,” said Kristin W. Wall, LWCC’s president and CEO. “While dividends are not guaranteed, we have been able to distribute one for 23 consecutive years. These funds help member businesses invest in their employees, strengthen their operations, and continue building safer workplaces across our state.”
LWCC said it has returned $1.6 billion to Louisiana policyholder businesses through the dividend program since its inception.
