BOSSIER CITY, La. — Bossier Parish Community College has been named one of the 10 Most Admired Colleges for Health Professions by The Education Magazine, citing the school’s role in preparing healthcare workers and supporting regional workforce needs.
The recognition highlights the college’s Division of Nursing and Allied Health, which offers programs designed to reflect real-world clinical environments and prepare students for immediate entry into the workforce. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on training, clinical partnerships and alignment with industry requirements.
“Being recognized among the nation’s most admired institutions for health professions is a powerful affirmation of the work happening across our campus,” said Chancellor Dr. Rick Bateman Jr. “At BPCC, we are deeply committed to developing highly skilled, compassionate healthcare professionals who are ready to meet the evolving needs of our communities. This distinction reflects the dedication of our faculty, the strength of our partnerships, and the success of our students.”
The programs are offered across BPCC’s campuses in Bossier, Natchitoches and Sabine Valley, expanding access to healthcare education in multiple communities.
The college reported a 98.72% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination, the highest among two-year and four-year nursing programs in Louisiana, according to the announcement.
“Our unwavering focus on student success places the highest priority on attaining our goals for graduation rates and placement rates while giving our students a competitive return on their investment,” said Michael Whitaker, dean of Nursing and Allied Health. “We educate within a supportive learning environment focused on personalized, real-world education and foster a culture in which we recognize the individual needs of our students. Our success is defined by the academic and professional success of our students.”
The recognition comes as BPCC continues to expand its healthcare training programs and partnerships to address demand for medical professionals across the region.
