BOSSIER CITY, La. — Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) reported a record year for student scholarship awards, surpassing $250,000 in total scholarships for fiscal year 2026. The milestone highlights the college’s expanding commitment to affordability and student success.
BPCC awarded more than $120,000 in scholarships for the Spring 2026 semester, following $125,000 distributed in Fall 2025. An additional $7,500 in summer scholarships will bring the total to over a quarter million dollars for the year.
“These numbers represent more than financial support,” said Chancellor Dr. Rick Bateman Jr. “They represent opportunity, persistence, and the belief that every student deserves the chance to succeed. Crossing the quarter million mark in a single fiscal year is a milestone worth celebrating.”
The achievement reflects the combined efforts of BPCC’s foundation, community partners, and donors who continue to invest in student achievement. Since Fall 2018, BPCC has awarded more than $1.15 million in scholarships. The college also reports a 95 percent retention rate among students receiving BPCC Foundation scholarships.
College officials said the growing scholarship program has strengthened student retention and completion outcomes while advancing BPCC’s role as a leading provider of accessible, high-quality education in Northwest Louisiana.
