ALEXANDRIA, La. — December 9, 2024 — Agricultural producers and industry professionals are invited to gain valuable insights into the 2025 market conditions, legislative updates, and economic factors shaping Louisiana’s agriculture at the Louisiana Agricultural Outlook Forum on January 14, 2025. Hosted by the LSU AgCenter, the event will take place at the State Evacuation Shelter, near the LSU Alexandria campus, located at 8125 U.S. Highway 71 South.
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, which attracted over 150 participants, the forum promises a comprehensive examination of the economic landscape and critical risk management strategies for the 2025 crop year.
Featured Topics and Speakers
The agenda will include updates from LSU AgCenter economists on the state’s key agricultural markets, including corn, soybeans, cotton, sugar, cattle, and timber.
Prominent guest speakers will add valuable perspectives:
- Tom Sell, of Combest, Sell and Associates, will provide an update on the farm bill and disaster assistance packages under the new Congress.
- Nate Kauffman, an expert from the Kansas City Federal Reserve, will discuss the agricultural lending climate for the upcoming crop year.
“The forum will provide both a comprehensive outlook on the agricultural economic environment for 2025 and critical farm and risk management information,” said Michael Deliberto, LSU AgCenter economist and event organizer.
