SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER, La. — Visit Shreveport-Bossier, in partnership with Dream Keepers Alliance, Krewe of Harambee, Krewe of Sobek, the Shreveport-Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce, and other community organizations, announced the return of 318 MLK DreamFest 2026, a regional celebration honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Following the success of its inaugural year, the 2026 festival will expand to a 10-day, two-weekend event scheduled for January 15–24, 2026. The expanded program will feature performances, parades, exhibits, service projects, and cultural activities centered on Dr. King’s vision of equality, empowerment, and community engagement.
“318 MLK DreamFest continues to grow as a Civil Rights destination event for residents and visitors alike,” said Stacy Brown, president and CEO of Visit Shreveport-Bossier. “This expanded festival not only commemorates Dr. King’s dream but also inspires residents and tourists to act, serve, and uplift their communities.”
A new highlight of this year’s celebration is the inaugural Voices of the Dream Choir Competition, taking place January 16–17, 2026. The competition will feature choirs from across the region performing in tribute to Dr. King through music that celebrates harmony and unity. Choir applications are open through December 5, 2025, and may be submitted via email to [email protected].
Residents and visitors are encouraged to join the events celebrating Dr. King’s enduring legacy and the region’s diverse cultural heritage. Additional festival details and updates are available at www.visitshreveportbossier.org/mlk.
