BOSSIER CITY, La. — Country music legend Emmylou Harris will headline a fundraising concert for the James Burton Foundation at the Horseshoe Casino & Hotel’s Riverdome on Nov. 7, 2025. The event, organized in partnership with the James Burton International Guitar Festival, Bossier City Mayor Tommy H. Chandler, and Horseshoe Bossier City, will raise funds to support music education initiatives across the region.
The concert will feature Harris, a 14-time Grammy Award winner and Country Music Hall of Fame member, alongside an all-star lineup of guest performers. Proceeds will benefit the James Burton Foundation, which for two decades has provided free guitars to schools, veterans, and children’s hospitals in the United States and Europe.
Funds from the event will help launch a new music education program in Bossier Parish schools, providing instruments and resources to foster creativity and confidence among students.
Joining Harris on stage will be American Idol finalist John Foster; Johnny Owens and Marty Haggard, sons of country icons Buck Owens and Merle Haggard; and Australian country artist Angus Gill, a Golden Guitar and Australian Independent Country Music Award winner.
Louisiana Music Hall of Fame inductees Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs will serve as the house band throughout the evening.
