SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER, La. — The Super Retriever Series Crown Championship returns to Caddo and Bossier parishes for its fifth consecutive year, running Oct. 2–12 with events open to the public at no cost.
The competition, presented by the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission and Visit Shreveport-Bossier, features retriever trials and dock diving events that draw top competitors from across the country.
Activities began Oct. 2 with the “Big Hats & Bowties” owners social at Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana. Retriever trials are scheduled for Oct. 3–8 at Camp Minden, testing dogs and handlers in hunting-style scenarios. The event will conclude with the Super Dock at the Louisiana Boardwalk Oct. 10–12, where dogs will compete in long jumps, high jumps and speed runs behind Bass Pro Shops.
“Shreveport-Bossier has proven to be an outstanding host for the Super Retriever Series,” said Shannon Nardi, producer of SRS. “The combination of great facilities, supportive community partners and the welcoming spirit of the region make it a destination our competitors look forward to each year.”
In conjunction with the dock diving championship, Pet Palooza will take place Oct. 11 at the Louisiana Boardwalk. The event will feature pet adoptions, free rabies vaccinations, a costume contest, vendors and activities for families. The celebration will run alongside the Bossier City Makers Fair, which includes more than 150 vendors.
