BATON ROUGE, La. — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana said it will provide rebates to about 113,000 individual members covered by its health plans in 2024.
The rebates apply to members enrolled in Louisiana Blue or HMO Louisiana, Inc. individual plans. The company said the payments are possible because of cost-control efforts between 2022 and 2024.
“While current medical and pharmacy cost trends are at historically high levels, we are pleased that efforts to improve care quality and lower costs over the past three years were successful,” said Bryan Camerlinck, president and CEO of Louisiana Blue. “As a result of this work, we are able to send rebates to certain individual members.”
Eligible members will receive letters explaining the rebates this week, with payments expected in the coming weeks.
