DALLAS, TX – The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Lufkin Resident Agency is calling on potential victims of alleged investment fraud schemes orchestrated by Matthew “Matt” Jess Thrash to come forward. Thrash was recently indicted in the Eastern District of Texas on federal charges of wire fraud and money laundering.
Thrash is accused of targeting individuals through a series of fraudulent schemes from 2012 to 2024, including a fake sports management company, a fabricated sports memorabilia store, and the fraudulent sale of stock in cannabis dispensaries. Authorities believe the schemes impacted individuals across several locations, including Las Vegas, NV; Shreveport, LA; Lake Charles, LA; Tampa, FL; and various cities in Texas.

Individuals should not be embarrassed if they invested in one of his schemes. We encourage you to come forward so that you can receive assistance and help us hold him accountable in a court of law.”
