BENTON, La. — The Bossier Parish Police Jury will hold a news conference Thursday, Sept. 17, to announce a $25 million federal grant for construction of a new east-west roadway connection in Bossier Parish.
The Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development, or BUILD, grant was awarded through the U.S. Department of Transportation. The funding will support construction of a roadway connecting Winfield Road and Benton Road.
Parish officials said the project is intended to improve Bossier Parish’s transportation network and regional connectivity while supporting access to Barksdale Air Force Base.
Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development Secretary Glenn Ledet is scheduled to attend the announcement and deliver remarks on behalf of the state.
The news conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Bossier Parish Courthouse in Benton. The event will be open to the public and news media.
