Logan McConathy Appointed Interim District 5 Representative for Bossier Parish School Board

Bossier Parish, LA – The Bossier Parish School Board has appointed Logan McConathy as the interim District 5 Representative, following a seven to one vote during a Special Session of the Board. McConathy will serve in this role for the next 10 months, filling the seat left vacant after former board member Adam Bass’s election to the Louisiana Senate.

A Leader with Strong Ties to Education and the Community

Logan McConathy, a seasoned professional, owns and operates a State Farm insurance agency and McConathy Investments, LLC. In addition to his business ventures, McConathy is deeply connected to the education sector. He is the 2022 Chairman of the Greater Minden Chamber of Commerce, and education runs in his family. His wife is a teacher in Bossier Parish, and their children are enrolled in Bossier Schools. Furthermore, both his parents and in-laws have served for decades in the education system, with his grandfather having served as Superintendent of Bossier Schools for 11 years.

A Commitment to Excellence in Education

Expressing his commitment to maintaining the excellence of Bossier Parish, McConathy stated, “I believe Bossier Parish has thrived, and a vast part of that is because of the school system. I want to continue that excellence as best as I can.” When queried about the most significant challenge faced by the Bossier Parish School Board, McConathy highlighted the rapid growth in the area, stating, “We are growing so fast that we don’t necessarily have the capacity for more students.” He acknowledged the efforts of the board but emphasized the need to address challenges on the horizon.

Sworn In and Ready to Serve

Logan McConathy will officially assume the role of interim District 5 Representative at the January 18 Bossier Parish School Board meeting. He is set to serve until the statewide general election on November 5, 2024. With his background in business, community leadership, and a strong connection to the local education system, McConathy is poised to contribute to the continued success of Bossier Parish schools.
