Local Regions Bank associates participate in United Way Day of Caring

by BIZ Magazine

Regions Bank’s Shreveport-Bossier City associates were honored to participate in the United Way Day of Caring for Northwest Louisiana on May 24.

Nearly two dozen volunteers from Regions branches and offices worked for several hours to paint the local United Way offices. This was the fourth year Regions associates rolled up their sleeves to give back on the Day of Caring.

“As a company, Regions Bank has a mission to make life better for the communities we serve,” said Market Executive Denny Moton. “That’s more than a statement; it’s a promise. And our support of United Way is a clear example of our mission in action.”

The event started with a pep rally breakfast at the Bossier City Civic Center. From there, hundreds of volunteers went across the city to complete projects for local nonprofits. These projects ranged from painting facilities, organizing warehouses, assembling bags of clothing and necessities for children in foster care, beautifying gardens, and encouraging blood donations.

United Way of Northwest Louisiana said, thanks to these efforts, the Shreveport-Bossier nonprofit community saved more than $67,000 in labor costs.

“Regions Bank is committed to giving back to the communities where we live and work,” said  Regions Bank campaign coordinator Maggie Gilcrease. “We believe even the smallest gesture is a big step toward making life better for everyone.”
