SHREVEPORT, LA (June 25, 2025) – Thirty young entrepreneurs will put their newfound business skills to the test Thursday morning during the finale of Lemonade Day Camp, operating five team-run lemonade stands at Noel Memorial United Methodist Church, 520 Herndon Street in Shreveport. The stands will be open from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., serving up custom lemonade flavors and baked goods crafted by the campers themselves.
The event marks the culmination of a week-long summer camp focused on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and teamwork. Campers worked in teams of six to develop business plans, learn goal setting, profit and loss, marketing, customer service, sanitation protocols, and how to collaborate effectively.
“These kids have worked incredibly hard this week to understand what it takes to run a successful business,” said Jessica Schiele, Executive Director of Cohab and Lemonade Day Shreveport-Bossier City Director. “From developing their own custom lemonade recipes to learning about goal setting and financials, they’ve gained hands-on experience that will benefit them throughout their lives.”
Each stand will feature a unique brand and flavor profile, including both classic and fruit-infused lemonades. In addition to drinks, fresh-baked cookies, brownies, and other treats will be available for purchase. Most items are priced between $1 and $2, and visitors are encouraged to bring small bills.
The Lemonade Day Camp is presented by Cohab, in partnership with Noel Memorial United Methodist Church, Louisiana Economic Development, and First Impressions Graphics of Monroe, with support from several local businesses committed to youth entrepreneurship.
The community is invited to come out, support the young business owners, and enjoy a refreshing treat while helping the next generation of entrepreneurs gain real-world experience.
