A Community Tradition Supporting At-Risk Youth
Since its inception, the Battle of the Gumbo Gladiators has grown into one of North Louisiana’s signature food festivals, drawing thousands of attendees eager to sample some of the best gumbo in the region. Competitors will go head-to-head in categories including:
- Seafood Gumbo
- Chicken & Sausage Gumbo

A panel of judges will select winners in each category, while attendees will also have their say by voting for the People’s Choice Award and Best Booth Award.
Proceeds Benefiting Volunteers for Youth Justice
All proceeds from the event will directly support Volunteers for Youth Justice, a nonprofit dedicated to advocacy, mentoring, and intervention services for at-risk youth and families. VYJ continues to experience significant growth, expanding its programs, staff, and partnerships to better serve children and families in need.
“We are excited to bring the community together once again for an unforgettable day of food, fun, and friendly competition,” said Alex Person, Director of Community Engagement for VYJ. “This event not only highlights the incredible culinary talents of our local gumbo masters but also strengthens our mission of supporting and empowering youth.”
