SHREVEPORT, La. — Northwest Louisiana manufacturers will have an opportunity next month to learn about changes to the ISO 9001 quality management standard and requirements they may encounter when pursuing federal, defense and aerospace contracts.
The Northwest Louisiana APEX Accelerator, Manufacturing Managers Council of Northwest Louisiana and QMS2GO will host a free workshop Oct. 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Superior’s Steakhouse in Shreveport.
The session will focus on ISO 9001:2026 and the documentation and quality systems manufacturers may need when competing for contracts and responding to supplier screening by larger companies.
Organizers said attendees will work through a supplier quality questionnaire, review changes in the new ISO standard and discuss the cost and timeline involved in certification.
The Northwest Louisiana APEX Accelerator also will provide information about its services for businesses seeking government contracts, including bid matching, registration assistance and proposal support. The Manufacturing Managers Council will discuss opportunities for manufacturers to connect with other companies in the region.
The event is being held in conjunction with National APEX Day.
QMS2GO, a Louisiana-based software company serving manufacturers, is sponsoring lunch. Attendance is free, but registration is required and seating is limited to about 30 people.
The workshop is intended for manufacturing owners, executives, plant managers and quality personnel at machine shops, fabricators, industrial service companies and other suppliers in the Shreveport-Bossier City area and Northwest Louisiana.
