SHREVEPORT, La. — Gasoline prices in Shreveport fell 12.2 cents per gallon over the past week, providing motorists some relief as fuel prices declined across most of the country.
The average price of gasoline in Shreveport stood at $3.57 per gallon Monday, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 177 stations. That is 29.6 cents lower than a month ago but $1.13 higher than at the same time last year.
Prices varied considerably across the local market. The cheapest gasoline reported in Shreveport on Sunday was $3.34 per gallon, while the most expensive was $3.99, a difference of 65 cents per gallon.
Statewide, Louisiana gasoline prices averaged $3.61 per gallon, down 13.1 cents from $3.74 a week earlier. The lowest reported price in Louisiana on Sunday was $3.25 per gallon, while the highest was $5.29.
Shreveport’s average remained slightly below the statewide figure but above Dallas, where gasoline averaged $3.46 per gallon after falling 16.8 cents during the week. Little Rock averaged $3.66 per gallon, down 9.8 cents.
Nationally, gasoline prices fell 17.1 cents in the past week to an average of $4.12 per gallon. The national average is 24.7 cents lower than a month ago but $1.13 higher than a year ago.
Diesel prices also declined, falling 5.9 cents nationally during the week to an average of $6.281 per gallon.
“Average gasoline prices fell in nearly every state over the last week, while diesel declined in most, as refinery maintenance wraps up and seasonal demand continues to fade with the onset of cooler weather,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “That combination has given gasoline and diesel prices some much-needed breathing room, and motorists are finally seeing relief at the pump.”
De Haan said oil prices also declined in Sunday trading but cautioned that geopolitical developments could bring renewed volatility approaching the holidays.
Despite the recent decline, Shreveport motorists continue to pay substantially more than in recent years. The local average was $2.44 per gallon on Nov. 2, 2025, $2.56 in 2024 and $2.76 in 2023. Prices averaged $3.13 per gallon on the same date in both 2022 and 2021.
GasBuddy compiles its national average from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering more than 150,000 gas stations nationwide.
