BOSSIER PARISH, La. — The Bossier Parish Police Jury has awarded a $781,883.67 contract to Synergy Construction to stabilize the eroding bank of Red Chute Bayou along Caplis Sligo Road, a move aimed at protecting critical roadway infrastructure in South Bossier.
Parish Engineer Eric Hudson explained that earlier efforts were made to reinforce this vulnerable stretch of the waterway, but recent collaboration with the Levee Board has produced a viable long-term solution. The total cost will be split equally between the Parish and the Board.
“This project is vital for preventing further erosion that could ultimately compromise the roadway,” Hudson said. Construction is expected to begin soon.

Parish Updates Road Maintenance Strategy with Chapter 110 Ordinance Amendment
In a 6-5 vote, the Police Jury approved amendments to Chapter 110 Ordinance, focusing on revised street construction standards in new subdivisions. The update also shifts parish maintenance priorities toward collectors and arterial roads, deferring upkeep of residential subdivision streets.
The decision followed extensive discussion in the Road/Subdivision Committee and reflects a long-term strategy to allocate resources more efficiently across the parish roadway network.
