SHREVEPORT, LA – The Prize Foundation, with support from the Community Foundation of North Louisiana, is introducing a groundbreaking incentive program to encourage educators in Caddo and Bossier parishes to engage students in filmmaking. The Film Prize Junior Caddo/Bossier Teacher Incentive Program offers financial rewards for teachers who guide their students through the filmmaking process, from scriptwriting to festival participation.
Through the program, teachers can earn the following incentives:
- $100 for submitting an approved script for production.
- $200 for completing a film approved for the Film Prize Junior Festival.
- $150 bonus for teachers of films competing in the animation genre.
- $100 for participating fully in the festival, including attending screenings and guiding students through educational events.
“We’ve always wanted to do this for the teachers, and thanks to the Community Foundation, we are finally able to incentivize educators to be a part of this innovative experiential learning program,” said Gregory Kallenberg, Executive Director of the Prize Foundation. “I hope this attracts more teachers and students to take the transformative journey of Film Prize Junior.”
Empowering Student Filmmakers
Film Prize Junior offers students across Louisiana the opportunity to explore filmmaking while learning essential skills such as storytelling, project management, teamwork, and communication. With support from Film Prize Junior staff and industry mentors, the program provides hands-on learning experiences and showcases student work through its festival platform.
A Foundation for Growth
The Prize Foundation, established in 2012, is dedicated to fostering economic growth, workforce development, and creative entrepreneurship in Northwest Louisiana. In addition to Film Prize Junior, the organization operates several year-round initiatives, including the Louisiana Film Prize, Startup Prize, Food Prize, Music Prize, Comedy Prize, and Taco Wars. Each program emphasizes education, mentorship, and showcasing talent.
Film Prize Junior was created by Tobias Kallenberg, son of Film Prize founder Gregory Kallenberg, and is free for middle and high school students throughout Louisiana. The initiative aims to inspire young creatives to embrace the multidisciplinary art of filmmaking and develop entrepreneurial skills in the process.
