- Keep floors clean and dry. Slips, trips and falls remain one of the leading causes of workplace injuries, no matter the environment. Promptly clean spills and use warning signs when surfaces are wet.
- Keep walkways clear. Boxes, tools, cords and clutter can quickly become tripping hazards. Encourage employees to keep walkways clear and free of clutter.
- Wear the right gear. Appropriate footwear, clothing and required personal protective equipment (PPE) help reduce injury risks while keeping employees safe and comfortable.
Review and Update Your Safety Plan
A written safety plan is one of the most effective tools for preventing injuries, but only if it reflects current operations and employees understand it.
As business activity increases heading into the fall, employers should review safety policies, emergency action plans, and evacuation procedures to ensure they remain accurate and accessible. Employees should know where these resources are located and what is expected of them during an emergency.

A strong safety culture goes beyond written policies. It requires consistent leadership, employee engagement, and ongoing communication.
