BATON ROUGE, La. — Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB), in partnership with Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser, has recognized 34 Community Affiliates with the 2025 Circle of Excellence Award for their commitment to improving and beautifying communities across the state.
The annual honor highlights local programs that demonstrate professional development, collaboration within the KLB network, and the successful implementation of initiatives leading to long-term community improvement.
The 2025 honorees include Abbeville, Abita, Algiers, Ascension, Assumption, Baker, Bossier, Calcasieu, Covington, DeRidder, Desoto, Eunice, French Quarter, Hammond, Jefferson, Lacombe, Lafayette, Lafourche, Lake Charles, Livingston, Mandeville, Monroe, Ouachita, Shreveport, Slidell, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John, St. Mary, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, West Baton Rouge, and West Monroe.
“These communities exemplify what it means to Let Louisiana Shine,” said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. “Their commitment to keeping Louisiana clean and beautiful reflects the pride we all share in our state.”
KLB’s Community Engagement and Affiliate Services Director Cabell Mouton said the affiliate network “is the heart of our mission,” emphasizing that local leaders “bring KLB’s mission to life, making Louisiana cleaner and brighter for generations to come.”
The organization’s network includes 44 Community Affiliates and 13 University Affiliates. Together, they mobilized more than 61,000 volunteers statewide during 2024–2025, partnering with schools, governments, and organizations to conduct thousands of cleanups and remove tens of thousands of cigarette butts. Their collective efforts generated an estimated $5 million in volunteer value.
