Foundation Also Releases 2024 Annual Report: Building a Brighter Future
Shreveport, La. — The Community Foundation of North Louisiana (CFNLA) has announced the awarding of more than $3.8 million in grants to area nonprofits through its 2025 competitive grant cycle. These strategic investments are part of CFNLA’s ongoing mission to improve quality of life in the region by supporting effective, data-driven programs in education, health, and poverty alleviation.
Since its inception, CFNLA has granted over $146 million through various channels, including competitive grants, donor-advised funds, scholarships, and the annual Give For Good campaign.
“To effect meaningful change, we seek out programs that are supported by data and have demonstrated impact,” said Foundation leadership. “Our competitive grantmaking is rigorous and intentional, with a focus on long-term community outcomes.”
A Data-Driven Approach
Grant applicants must undergo a thorough review process, including submission of:
- Current financial statements
- Organizational and program budgets
- Liability insurance documentation
- Measurable outcomes and sustainability plans
Final funding decisions are made each April by the CFNLA Board of Directors, following a scoring process that evaluates alignment with community needs, as outlined in the Foundation’s Community Counts research.
In 2025, the majority of competitive grants were awarded to programs addressing poverty, educational attainment, and public health. A full list of grantees is available at cfnla.org/grants.
Transparency and Community Impact
In conjunction with the announcement, CFNLA has also released its 2024 Annual Report, titled Building a Brighter Future. The report provides a detailed overview of the Foundation’s financials, grant distributions, and impact metrics.
The report is available online at cfnla.org/financials.
