The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office has renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, reaffirming its commitment to fighting Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC). This partnership enhances investigative and prosecutorial efforts to protect children from online predators, ensuring a safer digital environment for the youth of Bossier Parish.
Sheriff Julian Whittington emphasized the importance of this ongoing collaboration, stating:
“This renewed partnership underscores the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office’s dedication to working hand-in-hand with the Attorney General’s Office to protect our children from the ever-growing threats posed by online predators. By strengthening our collaboration, we are better equipped to swiftly respond to reports of online exploitation and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.”
Strengthening the Fight Against Online Exploitation
The MOU allows the Sheriff’s Office to continue working alongside the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office and the statewide ICAC Task Force to investigate leads related to internet crimes targeting minors.
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill expressed her gratitude to Sheriff Whittington and highlighted the importance of interagency cooperation in combating these crimes.
“We look forward to continued collaboration between our agencies to combat the exploitation of children in Bossier Parish and across Louisiana.”
A Unified Approach to Child Protection
As part of this renewed agreement, the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office will continue to:
- Investigate online tips related to child exploitation.
- Conduct digital forensic analysis to support criminal cases.
- Leverage shared resources between agencies to strengthen child protection efforts.
This partnership reflects a proactive stance against online child exploitation, with both agencies pledging to expand their collective reach and utilize their expertise to safeguard Louisiana’s children.
