The Bossier Chamber of Commerce and Keep Bossier Beautiful have been awarded $10,000 in grants from Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) as part of the statewide effort to tackle litter and promote cleaner, more beautiful communities.
The grants, announced by Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser and Keep Louisiana Beautiful, are part of the 2025 Clean Biz Chamber Grant and Community Affiliate Program Grant initiatives. KLB has allocated a total of $125,000 to 25 organizations across 19 parishes in Louisiana to implement litter prevention programs at the local level.
“These grants give communities the tools they need to implement effective litter prevention programs,” said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. “It takes all of us working together to address Louisiana’s litter problem, and I appreciate everyone stepping up to make a difference.”
The Bossier Chamber of Commerce will receive $5,000 under the Clean Biz Chamber Grant, which focuses on promoting the Clean Biz Partnership program. The initiative encourages businesses to take responsibility for keeping their properties litter-free, well-maintained, and welcoming. The Chamber will recruit businesses to join the partnership and work with members to improve local aesthetics and environmental stewardship.
Additionally, Keep Bossier Beautiful will receive $5,000 as part of the Community Affiliate Program Grant. This funding will support litter prevention campaigns, educational outreach, and community cleanup events. Efforts will focus on initiatives such as Love the Boot Week, youth education, and KLB’s “Let Louisiana Shine” campaign, designed to increase awareness and action against littering.
“Sustaining clean and beautiful communities requires teamwork and resources, and we’re proud to see Bossier Parish recognized for its commitment to these values,” said Susan Russell, Executive Director of Keep Louisiana Beautiful.
Statewide Impact
Bossier Parish is among 19 parishes benefitting from these grants, highlighting a unified effort to reduce litter and promote civic pride across Louisiana. Other grant recipients include chambers of commerce and community affiliates from Calcasieu Parish, Orleans Parish, Tangipahoa Parish, and beyond.
