BOSSIER CITY, La. — The Bossier Chamber of Commerce will host a Military Leadership Luncheon in May as part of Military Appreciation Month, bringing together local business leaders and military officials for updates and community engagement.
The event, which returns for the first time since 2023, is designed to increase awareness of military operations and strengthen ties between the business community and regional defense partners, including those at Barksdale Air Force Base.
Previous luncheons have featured speakers from units such as the Eighth Air Force, 2nd Bomb Wing, 307th Bomb Wing and the National Guard, providing updates on operations and priorities.
Organizers said the luncheon aims to give attendees insight into the day-to-day work of military personnel and the broader mission of local installations, while also highlighting opportunities for community support.
“Our goal is to cultivate awareness of our military’s mission and how our community can enhance support for the men and women of Barksdale Air Force Base, our local reserve and guard units, their families and our veterans,” said Lisa Johnson, president and chief executive officer of the Bossier Chamber.
The event is open to chamber members and is intended to foster stronger partnerships between the military and local businesses. Tickets are available through the chamber’s website.
