The credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” is one that Carter Credit Union has stood proudly on since 1954.  From our beginnings in Springhill, Louisiana to our newest state of the art location on Ellerbe Road in Shreveport, this philosophy has not changed but our products and technology has. 

Carter Credit Union does everything your bank does, we just do it better and offer more.  We take great pride in our people, products, and technology.  We feel we do a great job at providing services to our customers when, where and how they prefer. From our wide selection of electronic services to our latest addition of video lending, our staff can assist you anywhere.  

Carter has experienced tremendous growth, topping 637MM in assets.  We not only serve our local communities but now serve customers from coast to coast.

It is both professional and enjoyable, it represents hard work and one of knowledge and expertise. Our culture provides for growth within the company, support to staff both professionally and personally. Coaching in both sales and service is available daily along with annual lending boot camps for those that are in the beginning stages of becoming a lender. Promoting within is priority at Carter and the ability to transfer within departments is encouraged. All levels of management team members are experienced in their areas, and some have expertise in several areas in the financial industry and can provide sound guidance to any member of their team. As a member of the management team, I appreciate the method of management that our CEO provides. He allows a great deal of independence in decision making for his management team which shows the trust he places in us to lead our departments within the credit union. We still believe that “we’re greater together” which is why this is our logo brand tagline for both our staff and our customers. Another important part of our culture at Carter is our open-door policy. There are many fun times here at Carter as well. It’s not uncommon to throw a little after work management team happy hour on the upstairs patio, or fajitas on the grill for lunch for the staff. For those of us that have been here a while, it feels like family and once you get here it will feel that way to you too.
