We are consistently honored as a “Best Place to Work” and recognized for our wellness initiatives, excellence in customer service, superior digital design and content, advertising and public relations excellence and support for diversity, equity and inclusion, including employee and supplier diversity. WORKPLACE CULTURE: Our coworkers are our best friends and it shows in the smiles and laughter when we get together. We are family and we have fun together. Our mission and our unique position to address and improve Louisiana’s historically poor health outcomes give us purpose. Paid time off to volunteer, matching gifts and dollars for doers let us support the causes we love. We have an intense focus on work life balance and taking PTO, with flexibility to work from home. Generous benefits, a rich Wellness program, health fair, exercise classes, mindfulness training, support from EAP all make sure we stay at our best. Our strong Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program with 9 employee resource groups, help us embrace and celebrate us as we are and challenge us to drive change in our communities. Career development training/opportunities and robust internal advancement mean we are always getting better. We love coming together to share a meal, participate in a cultural event, or volunteer at the food bank or a health fair. Anyone who is around us comments on the way we smile, greet and laugh with each other. It’s about the people—the ones we work with and the ones we serve.

VITALITY: Our approximately 3100 employees, 20 of whom are based in Shreveport, are dedicated to the 1.9M Louisianians who rely on the Cross and Shield for their health insurance needs. The company’s strong balance sheet allows the company to operate efficiently on small margins passing along the lowest rates possible to our members. Blue Cross processes about $7 billion in claims for our members each year with high customer satisfaction scores as measured through the NPS surveys. About 18,000 businesses have health insurance with us. The entire State Office of Group Benefits (over 200,000 public employees and their dependents) have coverage with us. Over 35,000 federal government employees in Louisiana choose Blue. Almost every school board in the state uses Blue Cross to provide or administer their health benefits.
