BOSSIER CITY, La. — The Bossier Chamber of Commerce is organizing two summer initiatives aimed at supporting the Bossier Parish School System, including a school supply drive and a program to assist new teachers entering the district.
The chamber will host its Pack the Bus school supply drive on July 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Walmart Supercenter on Airline Drive in Bossier City. The event will collect donated supplies for Bossier Parish public schools, with community members invited to contribute items during the designated hours.
In addition, the chamber is coordinating the distribution of welcome bags for new teachers joining the school system. Businesses can participate by donating door prizes or sponsoring items included in the bags.

“We are proud partners of the Bossier Parish School Board and it’s vital that we come together as a community to support our teachers and students,” said Lisa Johnson, president and CEO of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce.
The supply drive will function as a donation-only event, with no on-site distribution planned. Businesses and individuals may also contribute financially by sending donations to the Bossier Innovates Foundation.
The chamber has hosted a new teacher welcome program for more than a decade and has organized a business-focused school supply drive since 2019, reflecting ongoing collaboration between the local business community and public education system.
Commonly requested supplies include backpacks, binders, notebooks, writing instruments, art supplies and classroom essentials such as glue, scissors and headphones.
Additional information on participation and sponsorship opportunities is available through the Bossier Chamber of Commerce.
