BOSSIER CITY, La. — Bossier Parish Community College has been ranked the top cybersecurity associate degree program in Louisiana for 2026 by Programs.com, according to an announcement from the college.
The recognition highlights BPCC’s investment in cybersecurity education and workforce development as demand for technology and defense-related skills continues to grow statewide.
BPCC said it is the only community college in Louisiana designated as a National Security Agency Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, a designation awarded to institutions meeting federal standards for cybersecurity education.
The college is located on the National Cyber Research Park in Bossier City alongside organizations including General Dynamics Information Technology, the Cyber Innovation Center and the Louisiana Tech Research Institute. College officials said the location provides students with opportunities for internships, workforce training and career placement within the cybersecurity and defense sectors.
“BPCC’s cybersecurity program is designed to prepare students for the realities of today’s rapidly evolving digital and defense landscape,” Chris Rondeau, program director of network security and BPCC Foundation endowed professor in cyber technology, said in a statement.
BPCC also serves as the lead institution for the Louisiana Cyber Academy, a six-university consortium that delivers shared cybersecurity coursework through cooperative academic agreements across the state.
Quentin Calhoun, dean of business and information technology at BPCC, said the ranking reflects the college’s focus on workforce readiness and industry partnerships.
“The demand for cybersecurity professionals continues to grow across every industry, and BPCC is positioned to meet that demand through industry-aligned training, strategic partnerships, and direct connections to employers operating at the highest levels of cybersecurity and defense,” Calhoun said.
