Shreveport, La. – Dani Zoorob, MD, MHA, MBA, MHI, EdM, FACOG, FACS, CPE, FACHE, FAMIA, FAAPL has been named Interim Dean of LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine. Dr. Zoorob assumed the leadership role on March 30.
Dr. Zoorob brings more than two decades of clinical experience at academic institutions including numerous leadership roles at LSU Health Shreveport. He has served as the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Assistant Dean of Faculty Development. He was selected as a Certified Physician Executive and Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Informatics Association.
He is actively engaged in medical education at LSUHS School of Medicine serving on multiple medical school committees, as the LCME Site Visit Key Faculty Lead, and a Medical Student Practice-Based Learning Faculty member. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha society, the Gold Humanism Society and received the Humanism in Teaching Award in 2024 by the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics. He is engaged in national surgical simulation and mentorship education programs (APGO SES), with more than 20 Undergraduate and Graduate Medical Education leadership roles. Dr. Zoorob received the Deans Award for Advising Excellence in 2021 while at the University of Toledo School of Medicine, including serving as the Residency Director for OB/Gyn and Vice Chair of Education where he led the institutional robotics curriculum, the UroGynecology medical student elective and co-chaired the annual regional institutional research competitions.
Dr. Zoorob holds a master’s in educational leadership from Harvard University, master’s degrees in health informatics and health administration from University of Cincinnati, and a master’s in business administration from the University of Toledo. His interest and knowledge in healthcare technology were demonstrated through his selection as the Chief Medical Information Officer for Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport.
