BATON ROUGE, La. — The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles announced it has reached 2 million online appointment bookings through its website, marking a milestone following the rollout of its updated scheduling platform in 2024.
The agency said the achievement reflects ongoing efforts to improve customer experience and streamline operations at OMV service centers statewide.
“Booking an appointment eliminates wait times and allows our customers to visit when it best fits their schedule,” said Keith E. Neal, commissioner of the OMV. “We’ll continue to improve this system to meet the needs of our residents.”
Appointments are available at all 79 OMV customer service centers, as well as select Public Tag Agents, through Qtopia, an online scheduling platform developed by Envoc. Residents can access the system via the state’s ExpressLane website.
OMV officials said customers who book appointments are served at their scheduled time, while walk-in visitors are accommodated as availability allows and may face longer wait times.
Services currently offered through the appointment system include driver’s license and ID renewals, first-time license issuance, REAL ID processing, vehicle registration services, commercial driver’s license transactions, reinstatements, and testing services, among others.
The agency said continued adoption of the online system is expected to further reduce congestion at service centers and improve overall efficiency.
