SHREVEPORT, La. — The 51st Annual Shreveport World of Wheels will return to the Shreveport Convention Center this week under new ownership, bringing expanded programming, national-level judging and increased prize opportunities to one of the region’s longest-running automotive showcases.
The three-day event, presented by Mericle’s Towing, runs Feb. 27-28 and March 1 and will fill all three bays of the convention center with classics, customs, modern muscle cars, specialty builds and featured show vehicles.
Organizers said the show has been restructured to elevate competition and broaden entertainment offerings. Judges from the International Show Car Association and the Summit Racing Equipment Show Car Series will oversee this year’s competition, adding national-level evaluation standards. In addition to ISCA awards, competitors will vie for honors in the event’s Goldstar Division, with cash prizes accompanying select awards.
Beyond the competition floor, the event will feature a Louisiana-based music lineup. Performers include Buddy Flett and Ryan Ramos, along with Jester, Lions in the Sand and Shane Pons. Pons is scheduled to perform Sunday ahead of a guitar giveaway. Automotive personality 4×4 Barbie will also appear for meet-and-greet sessions throughout the weekend.
Interactive elements include the 98 Rocks Crushed Car Contest, presented in partnership with Pipes U Pull It, Mericle’s Towing and Jackson Construction. Attendees will attempt to identify the year, make and model of a crushed mystery vehicle. One participant who correctly identifies all three will receive a $250 cash prize provided by Jackson Construction.
Community outreach remains part of the event’s programming. The North Shreveport Lions Club will offer complimentary vision screenings during the show. Friday programming includes a Student Career Day, giving local students early access to explore the show floor and connect with automotive trade professionals before general admission begins.
Event hours are 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Adult one-day admission is $20, with a $30 weekend pass available. Child one-day tickets are $10, with a $15 weekend option. Tickets will be available at the door and online at ShreveportWorldofWheels.com.
