BOSSIER CITY, La. — The Greater Bossier Economic Development Foundation’s latest economic indicator report shows steady regional growth in late 2025, led by rising casino revenues, construction activity, and stable employment across the Shreveport–Bossier City metropolitan area.
The report, covering October through December 2025, highlighted that total adjusted gross revenues for local riverboat casinos grew across several properties, with Horseshoe Casino posting a 42 percent increase in December and Live! Casino up 11.7 percent month over month. Overall gaming revenues reflected robust consumer activity heading into the holiday season.
Hotel and motel sales across the metro area remained resilient, totaling more than $6.9 million in December, a 10.6 percent increase from November. Retail sales, while easing from earlier highs, continued to support local spending with combined city and parish totals above $400 million monthly throughout the quarter.
Construction values rose sharply in December, with Shreveport recording more than $35.8 million in commercial permits and Bossier City adding $4.4 million. Caddo Parish led in residential construction value at $39.8 million, indicating solid housing development momentum.
At the Port of Caddo-Bossier, cargo activity strengthened as barge tonnage climbed to more than 32,000 tons in December, with year-to-date totals reaching nearly 470,000 tons. Rail tonnage also increased to about 50,000 tons for the month, underscoring ongoing regional logistics activity.
Employment remained steady, with the metro area labor force holding at about 169,000 and the unemployment rate dipping to 4.2 percent by November, the lowest in three months.
