BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Lottery Corporation transferred $181.5 million to the state treasury for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, continuing its role as a key source of funding for K–12 public education through the state’s Minimum Foundation Program (MFP).
Since its establishment in 1991, the Lottery has generated more than $4.9 billion for Louisiana, all dedicated to the MFP.
“The Louisiana Lottery’s mission is simple and steadfast: to maximize revenue for the state in a way that is secure, transparent, and responsible,” said Rose Hudson, president and CEO. “Every dollar we transfer represents a tangible investment in Louisiana’s future.”
For fiscal year 2025, the Lottery reported $585.2 million in total revenue. Strong performance in instant-win and numbers games helped offset lower jackpot sales, underscoring the agency’s ability to maintain stable growth amid shifting market conditions.
By law, 25 percent of Lottery sales are transferred to the state treasury to fund public education. The Lottery also paid $32.9 million in retailer commissions to more than 2,900 retailers across Louisiana, many of which are locally owned small businesses.
“This year’s transfer reflects a collective effort — from our retail partners and players to the dedicated Lottery team,” Hudson said. “Together, we are delivering sustained growth and long-term impact for Louisiana.”
The Lottery’s fiscal year 2025 Annual Report, along with quarterly financial reports and historical treasury transfer data, is publicly available on its website.
