BATON ROUGE, La. – Representative Dodie Horton (R-Haughton) has been elected as Secretary/Treasurer of the Louisiana Legislative Rural Caucus for the 2025–2026 term. The announcement was made following the Caucus’ recent leadership elections, positioning Rep. Horton in a key role for the largest legislative caucus in the state.
With 80 members, the Rural Caucus includes both Senate and House legislators who represent rural and semi-rural communities across Louisiana. The group plays a pivotal role in shaping policies and funding decisions that impact everyday life in less urbanized areas.
“Serving as an officer in the Rural Caucus gives me an opportunity to help shape the future of this state,” said Rep. Horton. “This group can influence funding and major decisions that affect peoples’ lives. I thank my fellow rural lawmakers for their trust in electing me to this position.”
