SHREVEPORT, La. — Get ready for a flavor-packed fiesta as Taco Wars returns to downtown Shreveport on Saturday, April 26, 2025, bringing bold bites, vibrant culture, and lively entertainment to the heart of the city. Hosted outside the historic Shreveport Municipal Auditorium from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., this year’s event promises to be the biggest and boldest yet.
Presented by the Prize Foundation, Modelo, and Maestro Dobel, Taco Wars is the region’s premier taco and salsa festival, highlighting the food, music, and cultural vibrancy of the local Hispanic community.
The free, family-friendly festival will feature:
- 14 competing taquerias from across Northwest Louisiana and East Texas
- A live mariachi band (Estrellas de Mexico) and other musical performances
- A kid’s area with free activities
- Tequila and beer tastings, margaritas, non-alcoholic drinks, and sweet treats
- Two major competitions: the Golden Taco (judged by celebrity judges) and the Golden Molcajete (voted on by attendees)
“It’s with great pride and honor that my Prize colleagues and I get to host Taco Wars,” said Gregory Kallenberg, Executive Director of the Prize Foundation and Founder of Taco Wars. “The Hispanic community is an important pillar of our region, and we love that we get to put a spotlight on their foods and their culture. What’s better than spending a day celebrating with tacos, margaritas, and live music?”
Participating Taquerias for 2025 include:
- Amigos 70th Street Tacos
- El Novillo Meat Market
