BATON ROUGE, LA – Commissioner of Administration Taylor Barras announced that all state offices across Louisiana will be closed on Thursday, January 23, 2025, due to ongoing winter weather conditions. This closure applies to all non-essential state employees, including those authorized to work remotely.
Agency heads will determine which essential personnel must remain on duty, report to alternate worksites, or continue working as necessary during the closure. Special Leave under Civil Service Rule 11.23 may be authorized for essential personnel to allow time for securing family and property.
Timekeeping Guidelines
The closure will be classified as an office closure, and all employees in the affected parishes, including those working remotely, must use the LSOC (Office Closure) code for timekeeping purposes.
