Shreveport-Bossier, LA – Visit Shreveport-Bossier, alongside the Dream Keepers Alliance, Krewe of Harambee, Krewe of Sobek, the Shreveport-Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce, and other community partners, is proud to announce the inaugural 318 MLK DreamFest. This extensive celebration will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy with a series of cultural, historical, and community-driven events from January 15, 2025, to February 17, 2025.
A Celebration of Culture, History, and Community
The 318 MLK DreamFest aims to unite residents and visitors through events highlighting the significance of Dr. King’s life and vision. Activities include celebratory gatherings, educational opportunities, service initiatives, and artistic showcases that reflect the richness and diversity of the Shreveport-Bossier community.

- January 15, 2025:
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Party
Municipal Auditorium, 6 PM
Celebrate Dr. King’s 96th birthday with the Dream Keepers Alliance. The event features the inaugural MLK Scholars, a step show by Divine 9 fraternities and sororities, and more. - January 17, 2025:
Krewe of Sobek Grande Bal XXII
Shreveport Convention Center, 6 PM
Revel in Mardi Gras magic with the Krewe of Sobek’s vibrant celebration, themed “Sobek in Candy Land.” - January 20, 2025:
Beyond Galilee Screening and Networking Reception
Robinson Film Center, 6 PM
Explore Shreveport’s Civil Rights Movement through the film Beyond Galilee, followed by a networking reception with community leaders. MLK Resource Fair
