Request aims to give residents an opportunity to raise questions about the proposed Resilient Technology Park project.
SHREVEPORT, La. — A Caddo Parish commissioner is seeking a meeting between Amazon representatives and residents concerning the company’s planned data center development at Resilient Technology Park.
During the Caddo Parish Commission’s regular meeting Thursday, Nov. 5, Commissioner Ken Epperson asked parish administrators to help arrange a discussion between company representatives and residents in the surrounding community.
Epperson emphasized that the proposed meeting should provide an opportunity for residents to express their concerns directly to Amazon.
“I want them to come out and listen to the constituents and then they bring the answers back as to what the constituents want,” Epperson said.
The request comes as Amazon Web Services advances its planned multibillion-dollar investment in data center infrastructure across Northwest Louisiana, including a proposed campus in western Shreveport.
The development is part of a broader expansion of cloud computing and technology infrastructure in the region, with implications for construction activity, employment, utility demand and local government revenues.
Epperson’s remarks highlighted the importance of communication between developers and residents as large-scale projects move forward.
The commissioner did not announce a date for the proposed meeting, and no commitment from Amazon was reported during Thursday’s session.
The request establishes a potential opportunity for residents to engage directly with company representatives as planning and development activities continue.
