(The Center Square) – Caddo Parish voters rejected a $60 million bond proposition Tuesday that would have funded construction of a new sports complex.
According to unofficial results from the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office, 58% of voters voted against the measure, while 42% supported it.
The proposition asked voters to authorize $60 million in general obligation bonds to help pay for construction of the proposed sports complex.
Supporters of the project promoted it as an investment in recreation and economic development, while opponents questioned its cost and potential impact on parish finances.
