SHREVEPORT, La. — The Louisiana Rodeo Cowboys Association Finals Rodeo will return to Hirsch Memorial Coliseum Oct. 30-Nov. 1, bringing regional competitors, specialty performances and VIP dining experiences to the State Fair of Louisiana.
The three-day event features championship competition in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping and bull riding.
Performances begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31. The final performance begins at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1. Doors open one hour before each show.
Tickets range from $23 to $38.50 and include admission to the State Fair.
“The contestants that are competing are from our region. They are the best of the best of our area, and the families who are coming from not just Shreveport, but from the surrounding areas are actually getting to see their friends and neighbors compete on this large scale,” said Casey McBeath, an LRCA board member.
The program also features Rider and Bethany Kiesner. Rider, a four-time world champion trick roper, performs rope and whip acts, while Bethany performs trick riding. The couple has appeared at major rodeo events across the country.
Three VIP experiences will accompany the competition. Friday’s Denim & Dust includes a pre-rodeo dinner and an opportunity to meet the Kiesners. Saturday’s Glitz & Grit offers a Southern-style meal and VIP seating options. Sunday’s Boots & Buckles includes a catered meal and live music.
“As someone who grew up rodeo and in the Western lifestyle, I enjoy being able to help bring this event to the fair each and every year to continue that tradition,” McBeath said.
