Bossier City is growing, and we are proud of that growth. New businesses are opening their doors, new jobs are being created, families are moving here, and major investments are strengthening our community. Bossier City is truly a city on the move.
But growth, by itself, is not the goal. The real goal is to grow responsibly while protecting the quality of life that makes people want to call Bossier City home in the first place.

That means we have to think beyond what is being built today and plan for what our community will need tomorrow.
One of the most important pieces of that conversation is housing. As more people choose to live and work in Bossier City, we need a variety of safe, quality housing options that can serve families, young professionals, seniors and those looking to make our community their home. Housing and economic development go hand in hand. When businesses consider where to locate and where to create jobs, they also look at whether a community can provide a place for their employees to live, raise families and build their futures.
Infrastructure is another critical part of responsible growth. Since 2021, Bossier City has completed more than $120 million in infrastructure projects, with another $40 million currently under construction. These investments in roads, water systems, drainage and other essential infrastructure help ensure that growth is supported by the foundation a modern city requires.
Public safety must also remain at the center of our planning. A growing city needs police officers and firefighters who have the resources, equipment and staffing necessary to serve residents and respond when they are needed most. Our commitment to public safety is a commitment to quality of life.
At the same time, we must protect the character of our neighborhoods and the things that make Bossier City special. Parks, recreation, green spaces, community events, strong neighborhoods and opportunities for people to connect with one another are not secondary to growth, they are part of what makes growth worthwhile.
None of this can be accomplished by local government alone. Sustaining responsible growth requires partnerships, developers, businesses, housing professionals, nonprofits, regional leaders and, most importantly, the people who live here.
We also have to recognize that Bossier City is part of a larger regional community. Our success is connected to the success of Bossier Parish and Northwest Louisiana. When we work together on transportation, housing, economic development, infrastructure and quality of life, the entire region benefits.
Our approach to growth should be simple: prepare for the future without losing sight of what makes our community a great place to live today.
Bossier City has tremendous momentum. Our responsibility is to make sure that momentum is thoughtful, sustainable and beneficial to the people who call this community home.
Growth is an opportunity. With careful planning, strong partnerships and a commitment to quality of life, we can make sure it remains one for generations to come.
